It is open Monday to Friday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, Sunday and holidays 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., closed Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day. Parking at Sugar Sand Park is free. Some individual activities charge to cover materials or outside presenters.

keeps its exhibits indoors in a historic oceanfront house, and its program schedule gives a rainy visit some shape: shark and stingray feeding at 1 p.m., aquarium feeding at 2 p.m., animal encounter at 3 p.m., touch tank at 12:30 and 2:30 p.m. Admission is $10 for ages 3 and up, and it is closed Mondays.
